Wanted: 'Lunch Buddies' at Nearby School

In March, the Ford Volunteer Corps and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metro Detroit will launch a Friday "lunch buddies" program at Ruddiman Middle School, just north of Ford World Headquarters on the Southfield service drive near Warren Avenue. Each Ford volunteer will meet one-on-one with a student on Fridays during the lunch hour.

To participate, volunteers must:

• Complete an application and screening process
• Attend a Big Brothers Big Sisters mentor orientation
• Maintain good attendance at the Friday lunch hour sessions
• Participate in weekly activities (homework, tutor, recreational, discussion) facilitated by the BBBS staff member
• Participate in end-of-the-school-year evaluation
