- 501 (c) 3 status.
- Serve the community at large.
- Have ongoing projects appropriate for the Ford teams.
- Follow Ford Motor Company's Equal Employment Opportunity requirements.
- Follow Ford Motor Company's Anti-Harassment Policy.
- Follow OSHA guidelines and safety regulations.
- Signed a liability release form.

- The 16-hour Community Service Program is for Ford Motor Company salaried employees only.
- Participation in this program is entirely voluntary. Participation or non-participation will not be reflected in employee performance evaluations.
- Employees must receive Manager's approval before registering to volunteer through this program.
- Volunteer teams will consist of a minimum number and/or maximum number set by the non-profit organization.
- Community service work will be performed during Ford's normal work hours (Monday-Friday day shift only, excluding Ford holidays).
- Work in a minimum of 4-hour blocks.
- Volunteers cannot participate in golf outings, walks, marathons, charitable drives or other fundraising activities.

When participating in a community service project on company time, all activities are governed by OSHA guidelines. Each employee is responsible for ensuring that safety guidelines are followed.
- The organization must provide a safe workplace free of recognized hazards.
- Employees must be provided with the proper training and equipment necessary to perform all activities in a safe manner. If special training or licensing is required for a specific project, the organization is responsible for the training and/or licensing requirements.
- The organization must provide all necessary supplies for the community service event.
- The organization's representative must be on the site at all times with Ford employees while they are participating in a community service event.
- Employees must not work on ladders or at elevations higher than 6 feet.
- Employees must not work in structures of questionable structural integrity or with fire damage.
- Employees must not work with herbicide/pesticide or other hazardous chemicals.
- Employees must not be in any bodies of water, such as lakes, rivers, ponds, etc.
- Employees must not to be in direct contact with animals.
- Employees must not lift greater than 25 pounds on an individual basis.
- Employees must not perform any demolition work.
- Employees must not drive vehicles they are not licensed to handle.
- Employees must not use power tools/machines they are not trained/qualified to use.
- Employees must not scrape paint on or in homes/buildings built before 1979. Lead paint outlawed 1978.
- Employees must not sand any drywall.
- Employees must not set any roof trusses.
- Employees must not perform any roofing.
- Employees must never participate in a task they feel they are not qualified to perform.
- Employees volunteering for construction projects with Habitat for Humanity, or similar organizations, must complete a medical review packet.

When participating in a community service project on company-paid time, each employee must report work-related injuries or illnesses to the non-profit organization representative directly. Each employee is required to report work-related injuries or illnesses to the Medical or HR function at your work location within 48 hours of the event.
